don't take yourself too seriously

Those that know me well, know that expressing my feelings is not an easy task for me. However, you might also know that's why I write. It's my way of expression. Now, inspired by my mom, I'd like to share some of my writing with you.

Raised by a single mother combined with my strong willed, stubborn personality made for some hard to learn life lessons. By God's good grace I've made it this far. I was eager to grow up fast. I graduated high school when I was 16 and moved out of the house by 17 (only because I had to have surgery did I even stay that long). I looked forward, made my mark and NEVER even thought of asking for help. I lived on Top Ramen and eventually was evicted from my first apartment (God forbid my mom ever knew that, she would have freaked out). The only thing that slowed me down (not really) and got me to think about life, was having cancer at the young age of 20. Well, marriage, kids and a roller coaster of life in between has now shaped me into the person I am today and I'm left shouting..."I'm ready to fulfill my purpose." What is that you ask? I don't know, but I plan on taking you on my journey to finding out.

With my husband's permission, I'm including him in my writing as he's not only an important part of our family's everyday life, but a man with many talents and inspirations. I met my husband over 20 years ago when he was a salesman at Toyota and I arrived to buy the car of my dreams, however, he has since been an entrepreneur for the past 17 years. From starting, building and running a successful landscape business for over 10 years, to working on several other start-ups and his favorite thing, inventing, his amazing talents never stop. In fact he's working on a couple new projects now that I can't wait to share with you.
