When people think of a cleanse, they think of making sure they stay close to a toilet, taking the week off work and expecting to loose a bazillion pounds by the time it's over. When I think of a cleanse, I think of the way I got my life back, the way I got my husband back. This is him. Let me tell you his story. Life has a way of twist turning everything upside down and that's exactly what it did. As life got hard, as seems to be the norm nowadays, the doctor's started prescribing my husband antidepressants. He became a zombie. I began to wonder if his soul was still somewhere in his lifeless body. Life became even harder. He too could see that his quality of life wasn't there. He didn't enjoy things like he used to, in reality he didn't enjoy anything, because well, he didn't feel anything. That's when he decided to get off the meds. Well, that and the fact that we literally couldn't afford them anymore.
We had four kids, but I felt like I was taking care of five. What once was my amazingly talented, vibrant, caring, hard working entrepreneur of a husband was now a helpless shell of a man. He had ballooned up to 305lbs, which caused even more depression. He became bedridden. The weight kept coming and the depression worsened. I had to go back to work to support the family and feared I would one day get a call or come home and find out something had happened to my husband. I knew something had to change. There had to be help. He was done with doctors, done with meds and ready to be done himself. That's when my every spare second became consumed with research. How could I help? What could I do to get to the root of the problem, not just cover it up? That's when I discovered Candida Overgrowth. What is Candida you ask. Candida is the healthy yeast in your gut used to process foods through your digestive tract. So, why is it a bad thing? Well, like most things in life, moderation is good, too much...not so good. As I read, I discovered that Candida Overgrowth is linked to many autoimmune disorders as well as anxiety and depression. It makes complete sense. When you think about what causes Candida Overgrowth, it's all the things that we have unnaturally incorporated into the American diet...refined sugars, flour and alcohol. All these things feed the yeast and the more we consume, the more overgrowth we create.

AuthorThere are so many things in life we can't control, which makes me want to take control of the things I can...like mine and my family's health. I began incorporating essential oils into our household about 6 years ago, but it wasn't until this past year and the huge impact the oils have had on our family that I decided it wasn't fair to keep them to myself, I needed to share. I have a passion for helping others and through essential oils I feel I can do just that. ArchivesCategories |
